Production of High Quality, Free Flowing Granules from
XPS Waste
Waste is generated during the production and processing
of XPS-extruded foamed boards, such as rejected boards,
milling shavings or fabrication waste. "Directly
recycled“ with the ORIGINAL PALLMANN
Plast-Agglomerator-System, type PFV, these rejects
can be re-introduced into the production cycle without
delay.
Method of Operation
XPS- foam waste, already precut to a size
smaller 20 mm, is pneumatically conveyed into
the storage bin of the Plast-Agglomerator. The
material is plasticized in the
Plast-Agglomerator by means of frictional heat,
pressed through the holes of a die and cut by
knives rotating at the outer circumference of
the die. The agglomerated material is
pneumatically conveyed into the downstream hot
melt granulator where it is cut to final size.
The downstream cascade sifter separates the
fines from the granules. The fines are
re-introduced into the agglomerating process.
The finished granules can be sacked, collected
in big-bags or transported into storage bins. |
