The Turbo Mill, Type PP
for Coating Powders
Production of
Micro-fine Plastic Powders for Metal and Textile
Coatings without Cooling Agents
The special design of the
PALLMANN mills, such as the
Turbo Mill type PP, allows granules from PE, PS, EVA
and other plastics to be pulverized at ambient
temperature into coating powders.
Method of Operation
The granules are
continuously fed into the Turbo Mill, type PP
from a storage bin by a vibratory feeder.
A quickly rotating impeller takes the feed
material into the grinding chamber and throws it
against a counter-rotating baffle plate.
Size reduction is performed by impact and
shearing forces. Depending on the
requirements, the profile of the grinding
elements can vary. The fineness of the end
product is determined by adjusting the gap
between the impeller and the baffle plate.
A Fan sucks the
powder out of the mill and conveys it through a
cyclone and a rotary air lock into a special
screening machine. The finished pulverized
powder is discharged into bags. Coarse
material is returned to the turbo mill for
pulverization. |
