The
Palltruder ®
Production of Free Flowing,
High Quality Wood Plastic and Natural Fiber Composite Granules
for the WPC Industry
For the production of
compounds from thermoplastics and rubber with fillers of
any kind in different mixing ratios, PALLMANN has
developed the Palltruder®.
Plastic powders, film,
fibers and foam as wells as rubber granules or powder
with inorganic or organic fillers in powder or fiber
form such as limestone, talc, wood flour, cellulose
powder, paper, leather, textiles, sugar cane bagasse,
cotton sticks, rice hulls, etc, can be processed into
free flowing homogenous granules with the Palltruder®.
The Palltrusion™ Process
The developed Palltrusion™-process is based on
the gentle preparation and drying of the feed
materials by means of frictional heat.
Palltrusion™ is more efficient in comparison to
any conventional processes for WPC granule
production to date.
More
efficient and more effective than conventional
granulating
During the production of the raw material,
unnecessary intermediate steps can be
eliminated. Furthermore, Pallwood® with a
moisture content below 1 percent, is very well
suited to directly produce high quality parts in
further processes – thereby increasing the
discharge capacity of an extruder by up to 50
percent.
The system persuades through its high throughput
rate at low operating costs, low space
requirement and energy consumption and therewith
insures, according to the PALLMANN philosophy, a
quick "return on investment“.
By simply exchanging the die, with this unique
process, desired Pallwood® recipes and therewith
the optimum basic material for further
processing can be produced.

Method
of Operation
The Palltruder®, Simple in
Function and Operation
The feed materials, wood, plastics and
additives are continuously fed into the Palltruder® via a
gravimetrical dosing system. The type of plastic- and wood
flour, as well as their moisture content – maximum 8 percent –
and the corresponding mixing ratio are decisive for the
throughput rate to be achieved. The material mixture is equally
plastified with frictional heat and pressure. Resulting steam is
vacuumed off. The palltruded material is pneumatically
transported into a granulator which produces a homogeneous and
uniform granule. Pallwood® can be instantly processed further
or, depending on the requirement, be conveyed to an intermediate
bin in front of the production machine. The Palltruder® can be
easily adjusted to any customer requirement in no time at all.
