Recycling of Foam waste
With foam material one differentiates between expanded polystyrene (EPS) and foamed polyethylene (PE). PE is the preferred material for the manufacturing of film or pipe insulation. EPS is commonly used as insulation for houses or as packaging material. Production waste created during start-up and shutdown of the production line is a valuable raw material when correctly prepared. The knife mills developed by PALLMANN in practical application, offer decisive advantages with their high throughput rate and economic performance during the recycling process. Defined granules sizes according to the chosen screen hole size, load controlled material feeding, easy exchange of screen and knives as well as knife adjustment outside of the machine characterize the preferred knife mill technology.
Special knife mills with horizontal conveyor belts as wells as load-controlled draw-in rollers offer an operator friendly feeding and trouble free workflow. Manufacturers all over the world use PALLMANN Plast-Agglomerators to produce agglomerates from PE waste material, which can be reintroduced into foam production. The agglomerate from EPS-waste is commonly used in injection molding.
Continuous processing, high throughput rate, gentle agglomeration at low temperature, fully automatic continuous operation with a minimum of personnel as well as space saving design are the special characteristics of the PALLMANN Plast-Agglomerator Systems. |
