For the production of high
quality flat flakes from chips, veneer waste, purchased flakes and coarse
material of any kind. This means that low priced wood assortments can be
used with the knife ring flaker!
Method
of Operation
The knife ring with dull knives is placed onto mounting cylinders which
hydraulically transport it to the carrier disc inside the robot. The
fully automatic process is started after clamping the knife ring to the
carrier disc and closing the housing door.
Electronically controlled torque wrenches loosen the knife clamping
bolts. Pushers move the dull knife forward against stops. Then the knife
clamping bolts are re-tightened with the required torque. The knife ring
moves forward into the next knife carrier position until all knives have
been moved forward and the automatic sharpening program is started.
The Sharpening
Process
The knives installed in the rotating knife ring are re-sharpened in a wet
grinding process. The advancement of the grinding disc is electronically
controlled with utmost precision. After all knives have been re-sharpened
to the predetermined knife protrusion, the knife ring is cleaned inside
the robot by means of a special cleaning system.
The re-sharpening and resetting is completed after approximately 45
minutes!
