Gentle Pulverizing
of Dry Cellulose Ethers
Pulverized
cellulose ethers are very well suited as a base material
i.e. during the production of tablets, colors, extracts
blasting- and fixing agents. Furthermore they are used
as fillers, as anti-caking and flow aids or as a
substitute for fat. The distinctive water binding
ability is often used in the construction industry
during the processing of cement, gypsum etc. Cellulose
ethers are effective as gray- and discoloring inhibitors
in washing and cleaning detergents. For these fields of
application, the dry cellulose ethers must be pulverized
gently and with a defined particle size distribution,
for which the ORIGINAL PALLMANN Double Stream Mill, type
PSKM is the optimum solution.
 Method of Operation
A
feed screw transports the cellulose ether into
the inlet of the Double Stream Mill, type PSKM.
The fan action of the
multiple beater impeller suctions the feed
material through the material inlet chute with
an integrated all metal separator to the center
of the grinding chamber. The material is
dispersed in the air stream and pulverized by
means of impact and shearing.
The
Double Stream Mill is vacuumed by means of a
conveying fan, which transports the pulverized
product to a cyclone separator. The downstream
screening machine divides the product into two
fractions. The coarse material is reintroduced
into the pulverization cycle and the finished
product is discharged. A filter cleans the
exhaust air of the cyclone. |
