Method of Operation
Precision Knife
Mills allow the processing of film in form of
rolls, edgings and loose material, cellulose,
linters, textiles as well as natural and
synthetic fibers, into fine powders with smooth
particle surface and high bulk density.
Furthermore,
Precision Knife Mills are also used for the
recycling of valuable materials such as metal
chips and foams.
Installation of the
granulator is on the production floor or in a
pit. Feeding is done pneumatically, with a
metering screw, or feed rollers may be used for
feeding material in rolls.
Material is size
reduced between rotor- and bed knives. A screen
holds material inside the grinding chamber, as
long as it is too coarse. Fine material gets
discharged through the screen into a pneumatic
discharge system.
An open, slant cut
rotor is standard. Bearings are outboard and no
grease can enter the grinding chamber. Rotor and
bed knives are adjusted outside the machine in a
knife setting jig. Knife gap setting inside the
machine is no longer necessary. A constant
cutting circle is ensured. The screen is almost
180° and has a large open screen area. The
standard hole size of the screen is 0,1 mm.
Other screen sizes are available. |
